A list of the books Robert has been reading lately...

Sunset Park by Paul Auster, 2010 Robert finished reading this book on January 26, 2012. 308 pages, 8 days, 38.5 pages per day This will most likely be the last Paul Auster novel that I ever read. Although he has written some great stuff in the past, it seems as though he's just running through the motions now. The character sketches were good, but it was far from a complete story. |

Empire of the Summer Moon by S. C. Gwynne, 2010 Robert finished reading this book on January 18, 2012. 319 pages, 10 days, 31.9 pages per day Interesting and well-written. It seemed much more objective than anything I'd ever read about the old west -- Gwynne didn't excuse the atrocities that were committed by either side of the conflict. |

Running On Empty by Marshall Ulrich, 2011 Robert finished reading this book on January 8, 2012. 289 pages, 3 days, 96.3 pages per day An easy read, fairly well written, about an amazing endurance feat. These types of books are great, not on their literary merit, but because they make you realize how much is physically possible. I flew through this while traveling to and from my first back-to-back marathons and it helped to keep everything in perspective. |

1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, 2011 Robert finished reading this book on January 5, 2012. 925 pages, 21 days, 44.0 pages per day Interesting story, easy to read, but not as good as I remembered other Murakami novels being. |

The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larson, 2006 Robert finished reading this book on December 15, 2011. 630 pages, 12 days, 52.5 pages per day Entertaining, but predictable. |
