September

September was a great month. For starters, I finished up with 231 miles and some change, my most ever. There were a lot of quality miles in there too – Seven were at sub 6:00 pace and a bunch others were sub-7's. I got a lot of hillwork in, made a return to relay racing, and even got to run along my old route in Boston.
Here in the city, I spent a bunch of time exploring Harlem and the south Bronx. There are some great running spots that I'd never run before. But, I'd to spend more time up in the Heights next month – I didn't get as much chance to explore there as I'd have liked.
I'm excited about October and hope that I can continue on with these higher mileage weeks. I feel the benefits already and know there'll be even more to come. Here's to a great fall coming up... I can sense it.

My last couple of weekend long runs have taken place in the countryside around my home in Michigan. Last Saturday I did 9 miles out & back, which took me into some completely new territory. I passed an abandoned farm which was really creepy; a bunch of feral cats stared at me from an open doorway and rusting farm machinery was everywhere.
Happy running!
