Lazy

I planned on taking this week easy, recovering from the marathon, and then getting in some decent miles this weekend. I had toyed with the idea of 20 Saturday, 20 Sunday. That didn't happen. I did indeed take the week easy (running only 32 miles between Tuesday and Friday), but then instead of double 20's this weekend, I only ran four yesterday and then took today completely off. I just wasn't feeling it. I'm not injured, or even particularly sore and tired. I just felt lazy and didn't really want to drag my butt off the couch to go for a run. And so I didn't. I justified the whole thing with the fact that I've ran really hard the last three weekends and, to be honest with you, I don't even feel that bad about it. A new week starts tomorrow and I'll be out there with fresh legs, pounding the pavement at 6am, starting the training for August's 100 miler in earnest.

I'm a huge proponent of lazy weekends.

I love how you feel it needs justifying. Go on with your bad self, enjoy that sofa, if it calls to you, obey. No fear of never getting up again, you're too obsessed. :-)

I ran 10 miles yesterday morning and then crawled back into bed at 10:30 for a 3-hour long nap. So I was both productive and lazy. :)

I say that's perfect 'listening to your body'. Fresh legs and mind is what you'll be needing for the 100 miler training.

Umm, I can't even begin to describe the different meanings we have of the word "lazy." I can only aspire to your laziness.

But great result in NJ marathon. I have never run, but everyone who has has commented what a difficult course it is. And the heat too! Great result.
