A Lovely Commute

Not there yet, but getting closer. Today was the best workout I've had since the injury and it wasn't even planned.

I bought a new computer for the office yesterday so I no longer have to haul my laptop back and forth. To celebrate, I ran home from work this evening. It's less than 4 miles as the crow flies, but I managed to turn the run into almost 11.

Walked west to get out of Times Square traffic, stretched, then began running up along the Hudson. Warmed up with a 7:30 mile. Decided to push the next 3. 6:59, 6:50, 6:51. And the last one was entirely uphill.

That brought me up to 116th Street, where I was planning to cut across and head home, but I wasn't ready to stop yet, although I did slow down to a very casual pace. I decided to go to the end of the bridge. I got to the end of the bridge then decided to go to the track. Got to the track and decided to do a lap.

my run home from work

Finally, I headed back to the east side, ambling up and down to avoid stopping at lights. But, when I got back here to El Barrio, I still wasn't ready to be done, so I did a little loop along the East River before calling it a day.

My knee is sore, but not exceptionally so. Muscles feel great.

1) you're a right crazy man and i am personally glad u exist, particularly at the same general time that i do

b) given what u do for a living, i expected some google map action and a cute jogging animation that i could re-route should i desire...

*) i used to run home after wrestling practice in high school. this was before the UFC. i crushed people in the 3rd period cause i ran home after practice. winning the sectionals that year, i attribute to running home after practice.

N., I thoroughly enjoyed your comment, especially the site you chose to sign it with. We really gotta get our mock-corporate panda executive retreat nonsense up there. If only there wasn't so much real work to be done...

I suggest we rapid prototype with PandaPHP, the framework I just made up in my head. It's abstract, virtual, so lightweight it's ethereal, and our first tutorial is how to create a panda executive retreat site in less than 20 minutes

The crazy thing is, that route may be faster than taking the bus...
